I'm trying to make a new hard drive bootable I recently got a new, larger hard drive (2tb). I cloned (not a copied) the original to the new hard drive, but Win7 won't boot from the new hard drive. It seems like I've done this in the past with success, but I'm stumped why it won't work now. I have Windows 7 Home Premium, I used Reflect.
I use GHOST 10.0 to create an image, then burn that image to my external Hard drive, then burn that image to multiple DVD's making them bootable. I use GHOST because I have to use SYSPREP.
Scenario
Advanced backup and hard drive data recovery software can deliver even more extensive options. Acronis True Image 2020 lets you create a single recovery tool on an external USB hard disk drive that includes boot media as well as all your backups – making it a recovery drive on steroids. More and more machines are coming without optical drives — that is, they don’t have the ability to read a CD or DVD, much less boot from it. Fortunately, there are tools we can use to take an ISO that contains a bootable image and place it on a USB thumb drive from which you can boot.
